Overview
This UK bank is seeking a Product Manager to own government funding and guarantee schemes. Location: Central Manchester - 2/3 days in the office. You will have visibility across the business, engage with senior stakeholders, and shape how these schemes are designed, operated and reported. The role blends product ownership with compliance and customer outcomes, working closely with operational, data and governance teams to manage external scheme providers and audits, support reporting and reconciliations, and help shape processes that ensure schemes are compliant and effective.
Responsibilities
* Own the product area for asset finance products (hire purchase, lease, loan) or government funding/guarantee schemes.
* Manage periodic reporting, reconciliations and audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Support product reviews, outcomes monitoring and wider governance processes.
* Work with external providers and internal stakeholders to keep schemes on track.
* Identify improvements to reporting, systems, data quality and processes.
Qualifications
* Previous financial services experience, ideally with knowledge of asset finance products (hire purchase, leasing, loans) or government funding/guarantee schemes.
* Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail.
* Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to handle conflict.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work well with change and ambiguity.
