About the role
Due to continued growth in the School, we are recruiting an Associate Professor in Accounting. In this teaching‑focused role, you will provide inspiration and leadership for the delivery and development of the School’s undergraduate and taught postgraduate provision in accounting, in line with the School’s Strategy. You will deliver high‑quality lectures and seminars, and undertake scholarship or pedagogical research to underpin innovation in accounting teaching and enhance the student experience.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver high-quality lectures and seminars across accounting areas.
* Design and update curriculum, incorporating innovative, research‑informed teaching practices.
* Undertake scholarship or pedagogical research to improve teaching quality and student experience.
* Provide academic and professional leadership within the School and across the discipline.
* Ensure excellent teaching standards and student outcomes.
* Engage in external assessment and review processes, and participate in significant internal and external committees and groups.
Qualifications & Experience
* Significant experience in accounting; membership of recognised professional bodies (ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA, or CIMA).
* Substantial track record of delivering high-quality teaching to trainee accountants and university students.
* Evidence of excellent student outcomes.
* Experience in module and curriculum design, with innovative, research-informed practices.
* Commitment to continuous professional development in teaching.
* Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) or equivalent accredited teaching qualification desirable; otherwise commitment to obtain such a qualification.
