Based in Scunthorpe with travel to various venues in the area.
Salary
£29.78 per hour (includes holiday pay)
Job Overview
This is a sessional (non‑permanent) teaching role within the WEA’s Functional Skills programme. The number of working hours per day and/or term will depend on the business requirements.
Responsibilities
As a Functional Skills Sessional Tutor you will provide high‑quality teaching and learning to a group of adult learners, delivering engaging teaching, learning and assessment. You will adapt your delivery for mixed ability levels and support learners’ development of knowledge and understanding.
Qualifications
* Teaching qualification (PCGE, CertEd, DET or equivalent); level 5 specialism (IQA and Assessor qualifications are an advantage).
* Experience in the design and implementation of innovative learning, schemes of work and lesson plans.
* Experience with a range of initial assessment and diagnostic tools.
* In‑depth knowledge of RARPA, the EIF and the quality processes underpinning delivery.
* Experience working with adults in hard‑to‑reach areas who may face multiple barriers to education.
* Strong working knowledge of OFSTED’s Education Inspection Framework.
* Team‑work ethic and a collaborative approach.
