Outdoor Education - Activity Leader and Support Worker

Quantock Outdoor Education delivers high quality learning and outdoor experiences for children and young people with additional learning needs and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our skilled team devises and delivers bespoke learning programmes designed specifically to support the needs of our vulnerable young people and works closely with schools across the Southwest to deliver an all‑inclusive education provision. We place our young people at the centre of what we do and aim to make the National Curriculum accessible to all.
We are looking for a dynamic youth support worker specialising in outdoor learning to join our growing team. You will have experience of working with children and young people. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills that can positively engage and motivate young people, irrespective of their level of needs.
Responsibilities:
* Lead in the planning and delivery of bespoke outdoor education packages for a range of age groups and needs, ensuring safe, healthy and stimulating environments.
* Work in a combination of offices, classrooms and outdoor environments.
* Support schools between 08:30am and 16:30pm, Monday to Friday during term time (availability may vary with school holiday programmes).
Requirements – Essential:
* Driving licence
* Right to work in the UK
* Previous experience working with young people
Desirable skills and qualifications:
* Forest School
* First Aid
* Safeguarding (Full Training Provided)
* Orienteering qualification
* Agricultural or equine qualification
* Level 2 coaching paddle sports certificate with BCU 4‑star award, sea or inland
* Youth Work qualification (e.g. Level 3 in Youth Work)
* Walking Group Leaders Award
Ability to commute/relocate: Higher Abbots Rough, Plympton, Plymouth, Devon – reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
Salary: £25,750.40 per annum.
This role is subject to the successful applicant having an enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce with barred list checks.
