Overview
We are hoping to recruit a member of staff to join our Facilities Team at St Ann's Hospital. This Housekeeping/catering multiskilled role is working in a friendly hospital environment, helping with cleaning and catering duties within the hospital. This post is part of the Facilities & Estates Service that Dorset HealthCare may transfer to an NHS wholly owned subsidiary company, from November 2025 or later.
This is a part time role of 15.00 hours per week, Saturday - Sunday, 7.5 hours per day between 07:00 to 15:00 each day depending on shift. There may be a need to change this pattern to work flexibly within the team to cover the needs of the service. Additional hours are usually available to cover annual leave and sickness absence. Any additional hours worked at weekends attract enhanced pay and you will receive a generous annual leave allowance.
Responsibilities
* Porter duties - Receiving deliveries and supporting in unloading deliveries such as stores, linen and catering deliveries.
* Cleaning - duties across the site, working to NHS cleaning standards, with weekly duties supporting the delivery of items throughout the site.
* Catering - all onsite training provided; experience preferred but not essential. Supporting our catering service within the main hospital kitchen.
* Delivery by hospital vehicle to a nearby site; full UK driving license is essential.
* Training and development - full training, support and uniform provided; shadowing current experienced staff to enable the successful candidate to become confident in their role.
Requirements
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required; the Trust will cover the cost. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
* Applications from candidates who require current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible to apply.
* Flexibility to work as part of the team to meet service needs; weekend hours may be required.
