Purpose of the Role
To set, program, and operate CNC Mill-Turn machines to produce precision components to exacting specifications, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
" Set up and operate CNC Mill-Turn machines, including loading workpieces, selecting tools, and configuring machine parameters.
" Interpret and follow detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
" Create and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software or manual input as required.
" Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
" Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify part accuracy and quality.
" Troubleshoot issues during the machining process, proactively identifying and resolving problems.
" Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company standards and health & safety guidelines.
Skills and Experience Required
" Proven experience in CNC programming, setting, and operating.
" Experience working with Puma SMX2600S and Puma 3100LSY multitask turning centres (Essential).
" Proficient in using Fanuc 31iB5 Plus CNC control systems.
" Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
" High attention to detail and precision.
" Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
" Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy components.
" Proactive, self-motivated, and reliable with a positive, can-do attitude.
Working Hours
" Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 15:30
" 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Salary and Benefits
" £18.00 - £20.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
