The core engineering team at EP TECH is building a completely greenfield cloud‑based platform, responsible for customer relationship management, billing, metering, asset and accounts management. This software is at the very heart of multiple utility companies spread across the UK and is absolutely vital to their day‑to‑day operations.
Role Description
This is a full‑time role for a Software Developer based at our office in St Asaph, North Wales. We will soon be opening a new office in Chester and the applicant can be based in either location depending on their preference. The Software Developer will be responsible for designing, writing, testing, and maintaining software solutions. Key responsibilities include developing back‑end systems, implementing programming tasks, adhering to object‑oriented programming principles, and collaborating with the team to deliver high‑quality software solutions.

* Python > 3.5 with type hints, dataclasses and Flask REST API.
* Postgres for relational data storage.
* Google Cloud Pub/Sub for messaging.
* Cloud Build for automated builds and our continuous delivery pipeline.
* Cloud Run and Docker for containerisation, scheduling and running services.
* Google Cloud Platform for our infrastructure.
Qualifications & Requirements
* A first‑class or 2:1 degree in an IT‑related discipline.
* Proficiency in Software Development, Back‑End Web Development, and Programming.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
* Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
