Job Title: Apprentice Butcher
Overview: As an Apprentice Butcher in our butcher shop, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in meat preparation and butchery. Under the guidance of experienced butchers, you will learn the art of cutting, trimming, and preparing various meat products.
Responsibilities:
* Training and Learning:
* Participate actively in training programs to acquire knowledge of meat cuts, butchery techniques, and food safety practices.
* Work closely with experienced butchers to develop practical skills in meat preparation and handling.
* Meat Cutting and Preparation:
* Assist in cutting, trimming, and portioning various types of meats under supervision.
* Learn and apply proper techniques for maximizing yield and minimizing waste.
* Customer Service:
* Working alongside experienced staff members to observe customer interactions and gain an understanding of providing quality customer service.
* Assist in answering customer inquiries and providing information on meat products.
* Inventory Management:
* Learn to monitor and manage meat inventory levels.
* Assist in organizing and rotating stock to maintain freshness.
* Sanitation and Hygiene:
* Follow established procedures for maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment.
* Participate in routine cleaning of tools, equipment, and work surfaces.
* Collaboration:
* Work collaboratively with the butchery team to contribute to a positive and efficient workflow.
* Seek guidance and feedback from experienced butchers to improve skills and performance.
* Compliance:
* Adhere to health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.
* Follow established procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Qualities:
