WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As the Accounting Supervisor, you will lead the UK finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements. You will oversee the month-end close process, manage AP/AR operations, support tax compliance, and coordinate audits.
This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Close:
Lead and manage the UK month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP and internal policies.
SOX Compliance:
Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks in line with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Ensure documentation and testing of controls are up to date and effective.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Supervise AP and AR functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, collections, and reconciliations. Drive process improvements and automation where possible.
Tax & Accounting:
Support preparation and submission of VAT returns, corporate tax filings, and other statutory tax obligations. Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and liaise with external advisors as needed.
Statutory Reporting:
Prepare and review statutory financial statements for UK entities. Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and coordinate with external auditors during year-end audits.
Audit Coordination:
Act as the key contact for internal, external, and statutory audits. Prepare audit schedules, respond to queries, and implement recommendations.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor junior finance staff. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Qualifications and Requirements
1. AAT qualified or higher, qualified by experience
2. Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting, ideally within a multinational or manufacturing environment
3. Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance
4. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP would be a preference) and Microsoft Excel
5. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
6. Management experience
7. Experience in manufacturing and multinational company would be beneficial
