🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
As Senior Buyer, you’ll take ownership of ensuring on-time delivery of materials, components and services, working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep production running smoothly.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Managing and reviewing MRP requirements to ensure optimal inventory levels and delivery performance.
* Preparing and issuing tenders and managing supplier negotiations.
* Supporting make vs buy decisions and evaluating cost drivers.
* Developing and maintaining supplier relationships with agreed service and framework agreements.
* Monitoring supplier performance and quality, driving improvement where required.
* Working with engineering and operations to source new suppliers and introduce new products.
🧠 What You’ll Bring
* 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Ideally CIPS qualified (Level 4 or 5) or working towards it (support provided).
* Strong technical understanding – able to interpret engineering drawings and ask the right questions.
* Confident negotiator with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* High energy, enthusiasm, and accountability.
* Familiar with MRP/ERP systems.
