Bookkeeper (Part Time 16-24hrs per week) – Cullompton (outskirts) - £35,000 FTE
Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to be working with a busy and growing agricultural business based near Cullompton, who are seeking to recruit an experienced and dependable Bookkeeper to join their close-knit office team.
This role has been shaped with reflection and honesty. The business is not looking for an accountant-in-training or someone looking for a stepping stone role, they are looking for a strong, capable Bookkeeper who enjoys owning the detail and being a key presence within the business for the long term. The position offers 16-24 hours per week with genuine flexibility around how those hours are worked. The role is 100% office based reflecting the collaborative and hands-on nature of the team.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day bookkeeping, ensuring records are accurate, up to date and well organised. The business operates at pace, so timely processing is important as well as keeping Sage up to date.Alongside the core finance duties, this is very much a “muck in” environment. Everyone has their own role but no one is above helping where needed, whether that’s greeting visitors, ordering supplies, emptying the shredder or keeping the coffee machine topped up.
Key responsibilities include:
-Full responsibility for day-to-day bookkeeping
-Processing purchase and sales invoices
-Regular bank reconciliations on Sage
-Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
-Supporting payroll preparation
-Assisting with year-end processes and liaising with accountants
-Providing ad hoc administrative and operational support as required
You’ll be an experienced and confident Bookkeeper who enjoys owning the detail and keeping financial records accurate, organised and up-to-date. You’ll be comfortable working in a busy, fully onsite office environment and happy to roll your sleeves up and help out where needed. Above all, you’ll be looking for a long-term role where you can provide consistency, build trust and make year-end a smooth and seamless process.
