The role The Commercial Waste Team is one of the most vital and visible teams working for Bromsgrove District Council, providing services to the businesses across Bromsgrove Redditch and the West Midlands. The role will require you to work as part of a small team operating across the West Midlands to manoeuvre and empty wheeled bins collecting Residual Waste, Food Waste, Dry recycling, and provide support to our Septic Tank Service where required. This is a highly visible role, representing the Council as well as the businesses we service, and our success comes from how we have ownership of our service in our local communities, ensuring high standards and accountability. The successful candidate will need to have a full UK driving license, be physically able to meet the demands of the job, work in all weathers on his/her own initiative to the specified job description. As part of the structure, you be working in a crew of 2 and will be expected to support each other and the other crews working in a cohesive and organized way to help ensure service delivery. Skills & experience Candidate would have a minimum of three years’ experience within the Waste Industry, a minimum of one years’ experience, working within a Commercial Waste Environment. You must also hold a full UK driving license. The post will be under a standard 6-month probation period and assessments will be done during that period to ensure the individual is meeting the responsibilities outlined.
