Overview
Language Link Plus is seeking Japanese interpreters to join our team on a part-time, on-demand basis. This role offers flexibility, competitive pay, and the opportunity to use your language skills in a professional setting. Assignments may be carried out remotely by video or telephone, or in person at client locations within the UK. Work is offered whenever bookings arise, and you can choose to accept assignments that fit your schedule. Each completed job is paid at a minimum of £100, with the potential to earn more depending on the type and length of the assignment.
The ideal candidate will be multilingual or bilingual, with a strong command of English and at least one other language. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to translate spoken language accurately and effectively in various settings.
Duties
* Provide interpretation services in person, over the phone, or via video conferencing as required.
* Translate spoken dialogue accurately and convey messages clearly between parties.
* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while interpreting sensitive information.
* Assist in bridging cultural differences to ensure effective communication.
* Demonstrate strong typing skills to document conversations when necessary.
* Collaborate with clients and colleagues to understand specific needs and contexts for interpretation.
* We welcome experienced interpreters, but experience isn't required. If you're bilingual in Japanese and English, we'll provide training to build your professional interpreting skills, including confidentiality and best practices.
This role is for UK-based candidates only. Assignments may be remote (phone/video) or on-site, across business, community, medical, and legal settings. We value reliability, professionalism, and clear communication.
