Role - Design Engineer
Location - Norfolk
Working hours - Monday to Friday - Full time hours
Capacity of role - Permanent position
Salary - Up to £36,000 per annum
Our client is an established and reputable company who is looking to add to their team by recruiting for a Design Engineer to join their drawing office.
Responsibilities
* Develop and design innovative products, components, or systems using CAD & Solid Works software and engineering principles.
* Create detailed technical/manufacturing drawings, specifications, and documentation to support manufacturing and assembly.
* Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to validate design concepts.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
* Evaluate materials, processes, and manufacturing methods to optimize cost, efficiency, and sustainability.
* Troubleshoot design and production issues, providing timely solutions.
* Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in design engineering.
Candidate attributes
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
* Proven experience in product or mechanical design engineering.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
* Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with simulation tools and prototyping is a plus.
