My client, a market leader within their industry, is looking for a Procurement Manager to join the business and be responsible for ensuring optimal supplier performance and price management while ensuring product quality. This role has a management responsibility of a small team based across 2 sites. The business is going from strength to strength and is continuing to grow. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious, experienced Procurement professional to make an impact at a business within a great industry.
Role Description
1. Line Management of a team of Purchasing Officers
2. Provide support and guidance to the team ensuring consistency across sites
3. Responsible for both raw material pricing and quality of goods received
4. To ensure continuity of raw material supplies
5. To source alternative locations for raw materials with more direct purchasing from manufacturers e.g. antibiotic sourcing and other raw materials
6. To instil process control in ordering, receiving, price, quantity and quality
7. Set and work towards effective KPI’s
8. To create a preferred supplier list of approved suppliers of materials
9. Recording and monitoring of short life stock, working with Commercial team regarding sales
10. Ensure inventory control – developing and implementing procedures to maintain accurate and appropriate stock levels
Skills and Qualifications
11. CIPS Qualification – desired
12. Must be well versed in procurement of raw materials
13. Ability to work with and lead a small team
14. Must have manufacturing experience and understanding. Pharmaceutical or medical background is desirable
15. Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, grade suppliers and bring on new suppliers
