HGV Class 1 Driver
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well established client based in Derby, Derbyshire.

Shifts:
* Monday to Friday (AM) : start times from 04:00
* Monday to Friday (AM) start times from 15:00
Rates of Pay:
* 06:00-18:00 - £16.66 per hour
* 18:00-06:00 - £20.81 per hour
* Sat - Sun - £20.82 - £24.98 per hour
Day to Day Duties
Your duties as a HGV Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:
* Trunking from depot to depot in the East Midlands - up to 4 runs daily
* Using straps to secure loads on trailer - can be awkward due to cargo
* Operate and drive various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
* Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
* Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
* Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
* Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
* Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed
Essential Skills:
As a HGV Class 1 Driver you will need to:
* Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
* No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
* Have a valid UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card
* Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
* Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
* Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
* Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience:
* Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
* Previous experience in multi drop experience will be beneficial
Training:
* Driver's Assessment will have to be completed
* After successful assessment, you will be inducted the same day
