Role Overview
Engagement Assistant – support student engagement, careers and employability programme, combining marketing, customer service and administrative responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities
* Support the running and delivery of employability and external engagement events, including employer sessions, workshops and networking activities.
* Act as the first point of contact for all students in the dedicated Career Hub.
* Capture, produce and post consistent engaging content across social media platforms.
* Support the planning and delivery of specific projects, maintain accurate records and administrative systems.
* Manage the Career Hub space, ensuring organisation and presentation, and maintain physical and digital careers resources.
* Support the Engagement Coordinator in creating student communication materials and maintain the Employability Virtual Learning Environment (Canvas).
* Oversee the shared email inbox, ensuring timely responses and escalation of complex queries.
* Any other duties within the scope of the grade.

* Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* Experience in an administrative or customer-facing role.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable
* Experience working in higher education or careers environment.
* Familiarity with event coordination.
* Experience in information, advice and guidance (IAG).
* Experience with a CRM system.

Qualifications
* Grades 4‑9 (A‑C) in English Language and Mathematics at GCSE (or equivalent).
Location & Working Arrangements
Newcastle University Business School, Newcastle City Centre. Full‑time, open‑ended post; blended working arrangements possible but primarily onsite during teaching periods.
