Role responsibilities
* Develop and lead the strategic plan for cleaning to ensure that high quality reliable delivery is the hallmark of the operation by working with Area Managers to maintain standards, people engagement, resource levels and service planning.
* Accountable for the delivery of TfW's On Board depot and cleaning operations by managing a team of Area Managers and having oversight of the operation to ensure TfW provides its passengers with a high quality and great value experience.
* Accountable for leading the day-to-day cleaning provision across a multi-site operation, by making certain that policies, procedures and processes are properly followed to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, including the safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
* Develop and manage the allocated budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining service excellence by seeking opportunities to improve quality and productivity.
* Lead, mentor, and manage the team of managers, supervisors, team leaders and operatives by demonstrating effective values driven leadership, target setting and personal development plans to ensure that the team meets its objectives, are empowered and to create an employer of choice environment.
Who we're looking for
* Qualifications or demonstrable experience in Facilities Management / Service Industry / BICSc.
* Demonstrable experience of managing a cleaning delivery provision over a large geographic area.
* Previous experience of managing a remote team.
* Previous experience of managing budgets, controlling costs and running a P&L.
* Previous experience of liaising with Trade Unions to agree terms and conditions.
* A practical understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures in the cleaning industry.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
