We are seeking experienced Mental Health Officers to work within specific localities created to address the demand for statutory mental health reports and other legislative duties. We need qualified and experienced staff interested in undertaking this challenging and active operational role, which offers practical flexibility in working arrangements.
If successful, you will complete statutory reports and carry out relevant statutory duties under the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003. We offer flexible working hours, as agreed, to meet local demand. Your role will be central to our assessment and planning responsibilities, aligned with National and Council policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements include a CQSW/DipSW, BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent, and registration or eligibility for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). You must hold the Post Qualifying Mental Health Officer Award to apply. You will also need to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to starting.

*Casual/Sessional roles receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for each hour worked, as compensation for annual leave and public holidays. Rates are indicated separately on your payslip. Payment is only for hours worked.
