Disability Support Worker
As a Support Worker, you will support people with disability in the community, at work or at home to live an enriched life and develop skills and capacity to promote their independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Support participants to connect with their local communities.
* Support participants in preparing or participating in meal preparation.
* Assist with personal care tasks.
* Provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the participant’s level of independent functioning, including participation in the community.
* Respond to the participant’s needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people, and others in their lives.
* Keep accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes and Incident reports.
* Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct
* Committed to ongoing learning and development.
Required Qualifications and Certifications
* A qualification in Community Services, Disability or Individualised Support, or relevant experience in the disability sector, or lived experience.
* Health Check
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* NIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete)
* Working With Children Check
* National Police Clearance (less than 3 months)
* Understanding of contemporary person-centred, strength-based support in disability services and mental health
* First aid, medication administration, and manual handling certificates.
* Have a roadworthy, licensed, and comprehensive insured vehicle
