Learning Support Assistant (SEN) – Farnborough Campus
Location: Farnborough
Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time
Pay: £13.75 per hour
We’re looking for caring, enthusiastic individuals to join our supportive team at our Farnborough campus, helping pupils with a range of complex special educational needs thrive in a positive, structured environment.
About the role
Our specialist school supports children and young people aged 2–18 with:
* Severe or profound learning difficulties (including PMLD)
* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* Language disorders, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities
We focus on communication, independence, emotional wellbeing, and personalised learning using strategies like PECS, TEACCH, and sensory integration.
Responsibilities
* Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups with learning activities
* Assist with personal care, mobility, and physical needs
* Use positive strategies to support emotional regulation and behaviour
* Help develop communication skills with visual aids and specialist tools
* Work with teachers and therapists to ensure consistent support
* Keep brief records and share feedback with the team
* Take part in ongoing training in SEND-specific approaches
Qualifications & Attributes
* Experience with SEND or a strong interest in learning
* Patience, empathy, flexibility, and resilience
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Comfortable supporting pupils with physical or medical needs
* A positive, proactive attitude

Requirements
* DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
* Right to work in the UK
