Position: Lead Platform Engineer
Salary: £62,000 – £75,000
Work Pattern: Hybrid
Location: Warrington
The Role
As Lead Platform Engineer, you will take full ownership of the design, delivery, and operation of Azure-based cloud platforms. You will ensure the infrastructure is secure and cost-efficient, while enabling development teams to work effectively.
This is a fast-paced and evolving environment that calls for a proactive and hands-on approach. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and liaise with external stakeholders, making the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible way essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Azure cloud platform across multiple environments.
* Oversee cloud operations, including monitoring, performance optimisation, and capacity planning.
* Maintain cloud security, governance, and cost management controls.
* Manage identity and access using Microsoft Entra, Intune, and role-based access control.
* Develop and maintain infrastructure as code.
* Collaborate with other teams.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering roles.
* Strong hands-on experience managing Azure environments.
* In-depth knowledge of Azure services.
* Strong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform.
* Solid understanding of cloud security principles and frameworks.
* Experience managing and optimising cloud costs.
* Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
