B1.3 Licensed Engineer

The Opportunity
As a B1.3 Licensed Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for the certification, maintenance and repair of H135 rotorcraft used in critical pilot training operations. You’ll be part of a high-performing team delivering exceptional aircraft availability and operational readiness across the Defence Helicopter Flying School.

What You’ll Do
*
Certify and perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on H135 aircraft.
*
Lead and supervise mechanical fitters, ensuring all work meets strict safety and compliance standards.
*
Support daily flight operations, ensuring maximum aircraft availability.
*
Carry out airframe, engine, and electrical system maintenance, including replacement and testing of avionic components.
*
Assist in the day-to-day running of the hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping.
*
Maintain >98% aircraft availability at site and during deployments.
About You
You’re a hands-on, technically adept engineer who thrives in an operational aviation environment. You bring precision, professionalism, and pride to your work — ensuring every aircraft leaves the hangar mission-ready.
Essential:
*
CAA Part 66 B1.3 Licence (Turbine Rotorcraft).
*
Experience in a certifying role.
*
Thorough understanding of engine and airframe systems.
*
Sound knowledge of Part 145, Part M, and continued airworthiness management.
*
Experience in Flight Operations and Line Maintenance.
Desirable:
*
Type rating and experience on H135 or H145.
*
Familiarity with UK Military Aviation or MFTS operations.
*
Experience using SAP or ERP systems.
