Business Development Manager – Chemicals & Refrigerants
Up to £44,000 + Car or Car Allowance + Commission

We’re working in partnership with a leading industrial business to recruit a Business Development Manager to drive new business growth within the chemicals and refrigerants market. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused, technically astute sales professional to join a high-performing team in a sector that plays a critical role in industrial and environmental solutions.
The Opportunity
As Business Development Manager – Chemicals & Refrigerants, you’ll take full ownership of developing new business and converting competitor accounts across a wide portfolio of industrial clients. You’ll work closely with product and marketing teams to shape go-to-market strategy and build a robust, long-term sales pipeline.
This role is field-based and can be located anywhere in the UK, with travel as needed to customer sites.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Drive new business activity across chemicals and refrigerants, identifying and winning new accounts and converting existing competitor clients.
* Own the sales process, building a strong pipeline and consistently meeting new business revenue targets.
* Collaborate cross-functionally, working with product, marketing, and technical teams to shape customer value propositions and tailor solutions.
* Keep ahead of industry trends, monitor competitor activity, and use market insight to influence sales campaigns and lead generation strategy.
* Deliver technical value, developing a strong understanding of customer requirements and providing high-impact, tailored proposals.
* Build strong relationships, both externally with clients and internally with colleagues, to ensure delivery excellence and long-term customer satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from driven, commercially minded professionals with strong technical understanding and a track record in industrial sales.
* A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
* At least 5 years’ experience in sales or business development within chemicals, refrigerants, or related technical industries
* A proven ability to negotiate and close deals in competitive markets
* Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills
* A proactive, self-motivated mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous role
* Technically capable and able to quickly learn new products or solutions
* A commitment to high standards, inclusion, and customer success
