Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate qualified Nurse/Paramedic to join our busy GP surgery in Barnstaple. We would ideally like ANP/Prescribing Nurse (although not essential). We are looking for someone that is interested in working in our Urgent Care Team dealing with patients that have acute symptoms and need to have advice and contact on the day.
This is a fixed term 12 month contract to cover Maternity Leave.
Hours for this role will be 20-25 hours per week over 3 days which must include working on Thursdays and Fridays with flexibility for Tuesdays.
Pay £ - £ per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will be an experienced Nurse/Paramedic who acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within the general practice. They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required. Health Professional Registration requirements are needed to carry out this role. Working as an autonomous nurse/practitioner as part of the practice team of nurses and doctors the post holder will deliver face-to-face consultations, telephone advice/triage and arrange home visits as required. They will be expected to see patients independently, diagnose and treat within the setting of the practice. The post holder is expected to prescribe medicines and products, as appropriately trained and within own scope of practice where a prescribing qualification is held. The post holder will contribute to developing, implementing policies, standards and guidelines within own sphere of practice. They will contribute to the development of students and staff. They will promote the health, safety and security of individuals, groups and colleagues.
