The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Cover Supervisor to join our Hornchurch team. This role is perfect for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals seeking flexible work. You will be responsible for overseeing classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students stay motivated and on task with the curriculum materials provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the classroom effectively to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons across various subjects to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
* Encourage pupil engagement and assist with any queries regarding the set work.
* Uphold the school’s behaviour policy with confidence and consistency.
* Liaise with department heads to provide feedback on lesson delivery and student progress.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have experience working with young people (e.g., youth work, coaching, or teaching assistant roles).
* Possess strong communication skills and a confident classroom presence.
* Be adaptable, reliable, and able to think on their feet.
* Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Be a positive team player who is passionate about student development.
