Quantity Surveyor – West Central Belt We are partnering with a leading housebuilding company renowned for delivering high-quality residential developments. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in the West Central Belt. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the financial and contractual aspects of our projects, ensuring the successful delivery of private housing developments to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities Cost Management: Develop and oversee budgets, cost plans, and forecasts. Monitor expenditures and report on financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. Tendering & Procurement: Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and manage procurement processes to ensure value for money and compliance. Contract Administration: Draft and manage contracts, ensuring alignment with terms and conditions and maintaining documentation throughout. Valuations & Payments: Conduct site visits, prepare interim valuations, manage variations, and process subcontractor and supplier payments. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, contractual, and operational risks. Cost Reporting: Produce detailed financial reports and present actionable insights to senior management. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery. Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to legislation, industry standards, and health & safety regulations. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of internal processes and promote best practices in cost management and surveying. Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the private housebuilding sector. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail. Proficient in relevant software (e.g., COINS or similar). Strong communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects independently or as part of a team. Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., RICS) or working towards chartered status is desirable. Valid UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites.
