Amazon Music is looking for a talented Contracts Manager to join our legal team to support our growing music, podcast, and audiobook business. We seek someone who can identify and implement contracting and legal process improvements, enjoys working directly with business clients, and loves learning new subject matters and issues.
The successful candidate will be able to work efficiently and collaboratively with business clients, team members, internal stakeholders, and outside counsel. They should be capable of completing a high volume of tasks and projects quickly and independently, prioritizing effectively, taking action without perfect information, and thinking creatively to solve problems. Attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines are essential.
Key job responsibilities
1. Review, draft, and negotiate various contractual relationships, including music licenses and service agreements, collaborating with business clients across music industry, business affairs, marketing, and product tech teams.
2. Work on marketing reviews to ensure legal compliance of marketing copy and assets.
3. Advise business teams on consumer protection law aspects.
4. Identify and implement opportunities for contract and legal process automation and simplification, utilizing automated systems and AI tools to scale legal support.
About the team
The role supports an international team with experienced lawyers in the UK and across the EU. It is closely integrated with colleagues in the US, with some work being global in scope. International travel may be required.
Minimum requirements
* 5+ years of contracts management experience, including leading negotiations and reviewing/drafting contracts in a legal professional role.
* Bachelor’s degree.
* Ability to invent, simplify, and improve legal and contracting processes.
* Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work independently.
Preferred qualifications
* In-house contracts management experience.
* Music or media industry experience.
* Proficiency in other European languages, such as Spanish, Italian, French, or German, is a plus.
