We're looking for an ambitious, motivated accountant to deliver a high-value client service and work with the Owner to strengthen systems, processes and service offering across accounts and tax.

Day to day, you will be responsible for:
Client Work & Review
* Manage the full accounts production cycle for a portfolio of clients, including statutory accounts and associated filings
* Prepare accounts directly for more complex cases, and review work completed by junior team members
* Liaise with clients on routine financial and tax-related queries
* Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting and tax regulations
Tax Oversight
* Act as the main point of contact for client tax matters (corporation tax, VAT, personal tax)
* Manage internal tax workflows and ensure deadlines are met
* Work with third-party tax consultants on complex matters, ensuring quality and value
* Help build our tax division, identifying opportunities to expand services and generate additional revenue
Workflow & Division Oversight
* Take ownership of the workflow for all existing clients across accounts and tax
* Ensure the practice consistently meets its KPI of completing accounts and tax returns within 3–6 months of client year-end
* Work with the Owner to track and evaluate the performance of the Accounts and Tax division, including fee income and client numbers
* Set and review team targets collaboratively, and support efforts to scale the practice sustainably
Systems, Compliance & Efficiency
* Work with the Owner to design and roll out improved systems and processes, including:
Working papers
Review procedures
Disclosure checklists
* Ensure all systems are ACCA-compliant and support a high standard of technical delivery
* Assist in the planned migration from CCH Tax and Accounts Production to a modern cloud-based platform, playing a key role in software evaluation and implementation
Team Collaboration & Support
* Review junior team members' work, provide feedback, and help develop their technical understanding
* Encourage best practices and a quality-first mindset across the team
* Contribute ideas for improving client service and internal efficiency
You will need:
* ACCA qualification with 1–2 years of post-qualification experience in practice
* Strong technical accounting knowledge with a confident understanding of tax across corporation, VAT, and personal tax
* Experience in reviewing accounts and mentoring junior staff
* Organised and proactive approach to work, with excellent workflow management skills
* Confidence managing client relationships
* Confidence working digitally, with experience using tools like CCH, Xero, and cloud-based accounting software
* A desire to contribute to the growth of the firm
