Job Title
Junior DevOps Engineer
Responsibilities
* Hands‑on supporting the team in their activities.
* Monitoring environments using latest technologies, resolving and reporting on issues.
* Creating AWS environments for testing, client demos, and as needed.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible.
* Support the automation of infrastructure through ‘configuration as code’ practices.
* Collaborate with software engineers to ensure smooth and reliable application deployments.
* Implement and manage scheduling scripts and automation tasks across various environments.
* Contribute to the documentation of processes and systems for improved transparency and efficiency.
* Opportunities to learn AWS cloud solutions, coding, and multiple other industry technologies.
* Picking up and logging help‑desk tickets and finding solutions across the business where necessary (Service & Support).
* Participate in a scheduled support rota of 10‑day periods.
* Act as the first point of contact for technical support queries during the rota period.
* Monitor and manage the support ticket queue, ensuring SLAs are tracked and met.
* Respond to customer queries via email, phone, or video call, providing clear and timely updates.
* Liaise with internal teams to coordinate issue resolution inline with relevant SLAs.
* Run and facilitate the weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB) process when required.
* Take ownership of any P1 (critical priority) incidents, coordinating resolution and communications.
* Organise and oversee ad‑hoc support activities during the rota period.
* Support shared infrastructure, including maintenance, backups & certificate renewal.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of software engineering and DevOps skills.
* Knowledge of AWS is advantageous.
* Broad skill set including programming languages, operating systems, storage, networking, virtualization, and automation.
* Experience building and maintaining ‘configuration as code’ infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Helm) is advantageous.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to work on multiple pieces of work simultaneously.
* Rapid learner in a constantly changing environment.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, from both home and office.
* Available to work out of hours on a rotation or ad‑hoc basis as needed.
* Strong curiosity about technology and industry changes, continuous learner who looks to improve and share experience.
* Strong communication skills with experience of speaking to external clients.
