We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Storage Engineer to join a technically advanced infrastructure team supporting enterprise‑scale, business‑critical systems within a live production data centre environment.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on storage specialist with deep expertise across SAN, NAS, and backup platforms, particularly Pure Storage. You will play a key role in delivering complex storage refreshes, migrations, and integrations, operating within structured change control and governance frameworks typical of regulated environments.
This is not a support‑only role — you will lead design, implementation, and project delivery activities end‑to‑end.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and support enterprise storage solutions, with a primary focus on Pure Storage flash arrays
* Deliver storage migration and refresh projects, including data movement, cutovers, validation, and post‑migration support
* Configure and manage Fibre Channel SAN environments (zoning, host presentation, multi‑pathing)
* Support enterprise backup and recovery platforms (e.g., NetBackup, Networker, Avamar, Rubrik)
* Collaborate closely with compute and network teams to ensure seamless infrastructure delivery
* Produce high‑ and low‑level design documentation and operational handover materials
* Operate within formal change management processes with strong risk assessment and governance discipline
* Proactively identify and elevate risks impacting live production or payment services
* 10+ years’ experience in enterprise data centre storage engineering
* Strong hands‑on expertise with Pure Storage platforms (installation, configuration, migration, support)
* Broad SAN, NAS, and multi‑vendor storage experience
* Proven delivery of storage projects from design through implementation and operational handover
* Strong understanding of disaster recovery, replication, resilience, and data protection strategies
* Working knowledge of VMware and Windows/Linux environments
* Experience operating within ITIL‑aligned change control frameworks
* Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills
* Experience in financial services or other regulated environments
* Experience acting as a storage SME or resident engineer within a large organisation
