Join Our Team as an Accounts Assistant

Location: Liskeard, Cornwall (Office Based)

Salary: £29,000 – £32,000 (based on a 40-hour week – negotiable for the right candidate)

South West Hygiene, the largest independent washroom service company in the South West, has an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and communicative individual to join our growing team. Based at our Head Office in Liskeard, this is a full-time position supporting our Accounts Team with purchase ledger, credit control, and key customer account management.

As a family-run business that's expanding rapidly in both size and reputation, we're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and thrives in a dynamic and varied environment. You'll play a vital role in helping us maintain our position as a leader in our sector.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supporting the Accounts Team with credit control and purchase ledger tasks
* Managing key customer accounts with professionalism and care
* Handling incoming and outgoing calls with a high level of customer service
* Engaging in occasional difficult conversations around debt management
* Ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work
* Prioritising workload effectively to meet deadlines
* Other administration duties as required by the business.

About You:

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Confident telephone manner and ability to manage sensitive customer situations
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Previous experience in credit control or purchase ledger roles
* Intermediate Excel skills are essential
* Experience with CRM systems and/or Xero is desirable but not essential
* AAT qualification not essential.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
