Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team.
We are looking for a new team member to join us on Monday, Tues, Thursday each week,, over an extended term time calendar with August off. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children within our nursery and out of school care setting. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare, play, and fostering a nurturing environment for young learners. Prior nursery or after school care experience and strong communication skills are highly valued, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the organisation and supervision of daily activities for children aged from years.
* Support the planning and implementation of educational programmes aligned with early childhood development standards.
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children by maintaining a clean, secure, and stimulating environment.
* Engage with children through play, support the team with contributions to learning activities, and social interactions to promote their emotional and social development.
* Collaborate with senior staff to monitor children's progress and communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's needs.
* Assist with basic administrative duties related to child records and activity documentation.
* Support management in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and nursery policies.
* Occasionally assist with driving responsibilities related to nursery outings or errands, subject to licence requirements.
Skills You will hold either a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare or Play, or we will consider for the right person, to be interested in training with us for this Qualification.
* Proven experience in childcare or nursery environments, demonstrating an understanding of early childhood education principles.
* Excellent communication skills in English, capable of engaging effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Experience working with children across different age groups, fostering their developmental needs through creative activities.
* Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards young children.
* Organised with good time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
* Valid driving licence is desirable for supporting nursery outings or errands. This role is ideal for motivated individuals committed to providing high-quality childcare within a supportive team environment.

Pay: £12.85-£13.20 per hour
