About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Project Manager (minimum 4 years in project management) within the material handling, intralogistics, or automation industries. This role focuses on modernization and upgrade projects, managing complex initiatives from initiation to completion-on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
You'll work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions for automated material handling systems, including installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting on live operational systems.
Location: Banbury (travel to client sites required) Industry: Material Handling / Intralogistics / Automation Contract outside IR35*
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership:Lead modernization and upgrade projects for existing automated systems across the UK, ensuring successful planning, execution, and delivery.
Stakeholder Management:Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams, managing expectations, updates, and issues proactively.
Technical Oversight:Work with engineering, software, and field service teams to define and execute technical project scopes effectively.
Financial Management:Develop and manage project budgets, track costs, forecast financials, and report on profitability.
Risk Management:Identify and mitigate risks to prevent delays and cost overruns.
Team Coordination:Motivate and coordinate engineers, site managers, and subcontractors to achieve project goals.
On-Site Expertise:Visit client sites for installations, oversee commissioning, and resolve operational issues as required.
You will need:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's or PMP/Prince2 certification is a plus).
At least 4 years of project management experience in material handling, intralogistics, or automation
Understanding of automated material handling systems and warehouse automation. - Desirable
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel within the UK.
