West Maintenance Services is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the construction division.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the cost and financial management of construction projects, from initial estimates, tenders, through to final account settlement. You will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure that financial objectives are met and that projects are delivered to the highest standards.
Your expertise will play a vital role in providing financial guidance and assurance, utilising your knowledge to track and report project costs accurately, assess risks, and explore cost-saving opportunities. Responsibilities
* Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and tenders for construction projects.
* Monitor project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and make necessary adjustments.
* Provide advice on contractual matters and assist with claims management.
* Prepare detailed reports on costs, budget forecasts, and financial forecasts.
* Collaborate with other professionals and integrate their inputs in the financial management process.
* Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts, pricing, and procurement processes.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
* Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
* Valid driving license and willingness to travel to various sites.
