Overview
JOB DESCRIPTION

This role performs duties throughout the Operations department. The job holder will assist in Goods Receiving, Stores and Despatch activities depending on workload priorities, staff availability and their job training status.

The Job Holder Is Expected To
Duty

Pick, label, pack and despatch goods for customer orders updating the MRP system as required. Some shipments to customers are booked through their relevant portals and will involve an ASN process.

Deal with carriage companies and shippers collecting goods. Be capable in using all key functions in courier and logistics software (UPS Worldwide and DPD Portal).

Deal with queries raised from customs and couriers for our exported product. Work with relevant agency's and have a good knowledge in customs procedures and expectations.

Receive incoming packages from carriers and locate them ready for inspection.

Inspect goods and associated paperwork received from suppliers to ensure that they meet drawings and specifications and are as required by our purchase order.

Select storage bins and prepare goods received for storage, booking the goods onto the IQ System. Scan and file associated paperwork.

Support the Operations teams in all core functions; covering fork lift operations and cable respooling.

Operate lifting equipment required to locate heavy packages safely

Participate in Stock Check activities to physically count stock batches and to re-organise batches into appropriate sized packages. Update the MRP system.

In the conduct of all activities the Job Holder must adhere to company Health and Safety procedures.

Skills
Knowledge and Abilities Required:

A clean driving license and fork lift truck license is a requirement for this role.

Is careful, pays good attention to detail and is self-motivated to complete tasks.

Can operate and gain information from the MRP system.

Practices good time management and judgement in assessing and responding to team priorities.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Has a proactive approach to dealing with customer issues and the drive to achieve their resolution.

Has competency in key Microsoft software skills such as; word & excel.

Has a tidy and methodical approach to tasks.
