Role Overview: You're more than a mechanic. You're a problem solver, a people person, and a proud ambassador for the RAC.
As a Roadside Mechanic, you will respond to roadside calls, perform fault diagnostics, repair issues such as flat tyres or batteries, manage your own kit and van, and handle reports with precision.
Qualifications
* A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with demonstrative technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
* A customer-focused approach.
* A full UK driving licence.
* Flexibility to work on short notice and travel with overnight stays if necessary.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on a variety of vehicles.
* Provide roadside assistance such as replacing flat tyres or batteries.
* Manage your own kit, keep the van stocked, and handle reports accurately.
* Make timely decisions on fixes, supporting team members and keeping all customers moving.
* Operate the RAC mobile van and equipment efficiently.

* Competitive salary: £55,869 basic (incl. London Weighting Allowance if applicable), with potential earnings up to £61,000.
* Weekly variety: 40 hours per week on average; roster released seven days in advance with core hours confirmed three days ahead.
