We’re Hiring: Controls Engineer – Special Purpose Machinery (SPM)
Location: Wiltshire, UK
Salary: Up to £60,000 (depending on experience)
Travel: Occasional international travel
We’re looking for a Controls Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering Special Purpose Machinery (SPM) projects for a wide range of industries.
In this role, you’ll be involved in the design, development, and commissioning of PLC control systems, working with both Siemens and Allen-Bradley platforms. You’ll play a key role in taking projects from concept through to on-site commissioning, helping deliver innovative automation solutions for customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
* PLC programming using Siemens and Allen-Bradley systems
* HMI/SCADA development and integration
* Electrical control system design and documentation
* Machine commissioning and testing (factory and occasional site-based)
* Supporting installation and start-up of machinery at customer sites
* Working closely with mechanical and project engineering teams
What we’re looking for:
* Experience programming Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley PLCs
* Background in special purpose machinery, automation, or industrial systems
* Strong fault-finding and commissioning skills
* Ability to work across multiple projects and industries
* Willingness to travel internationally on occasion
