Your role: Join Wigan Council in a newly created role at the heart of transforming our Housing Repairs Service. As Contract Manager, you ll lead on managing and commissioning contracts for repairs, voids, and disrepair works across our 21,000 homes. This new role will lead the transformation of Wigan Council s Housing Repairs Service, managing contracts for repairs, voids, and disrepair works. Working closely with wider housing teams, you ll develop a new contractor framework, lead procurement, and ensure compliance with CDM and council policies. Working closely with tenants, contractors, and internal teams, you ll use data and feedback to drive performance and service improvements. With a focus on Community Wealth Building, you ll support local SMEs and ensure high-quality, cost-effective delivery. This role demands strategic thinking, strong partnership skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent housing services that meet the needs of our tenants. About you: You will be a chartered professional (RICS/CIOB or equivalent) with significant experience in the social housing sector. You will bring extensive knowledge of housing legislation, procurement, and contract management, including NATFED and SOR schedules. With a strong track record in managing repairs and maintenance services, you ll be confident in performance monitoring, budget control, and driving service improvements. You will be proficient in housing and asset management systems and excel at using data to inform decisions. A skilled communicator and collaborator, you will show commitment to delivering high-quality, tenant-focused services and championing innovation, compliance, and community wealth building in everything you do.
