Position Summary
The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for the execution of effective marketing and communications strategies that align with the company’s business goals. Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing Communications, this role is vital in upholding each property’s brand identity and elevating the brand experience through activations in PR and media relations, partnerships, community service and social responsibility. Functioning as the second in command of the Marketing Department, the Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed, and that administrative work is carried out in a timely manner. As a brand guardian, the Marketing & Communications Manager must always have the brand promise of both properties at the heart of their mission.
What will you be doing?
As Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
MEDIA RELATIONS AND PR
* Coordinates media interest in the Organization and ensures regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
* Champions the hotel's media monitoring by maintaining the PR database, doing a regular search and report of media production and news about the resorts online, as well as calculates the media values that the hotel garners.
* Responds to media queries, and coordinates and organizes familiarization trips, media stays, and collaborations.
* Liaises with guests and other external stakeholders, such as hosting and entertaining guests of the Marketing department, attending Management Cocktails, conducting property tours and inspections, coordinating with agencies and partners.
* Assists the team with ongoing media and PR efforts, including media and influencer relations, press trips and hosting, engaging with partners and collaborators before, during and after their stays.
ADMIN AND LEADERSHIP
* Champions the reporting channels of the MarComm department, such as monthly owner’s reports, weekly Comms reports for Corporate Comms, Campaign or promotion review presentations, and as needed/requested presentations. Creates presentations and reports as needed to support the departmental goals, including gathering research on relevant matters as needed, ie. Competitors, trends, etc.
* Champions and maintains the department’s calendars and schedules.
* Carries on the administration of contracts, payments, and agreements for the department with external and internal parties, ensuring that we are adhering to company and country compliances, and ensuring that our communications and administration is done in a timely manner.
* Assumes Officer-in-Charge duties of the Marketing Communications department in the absence of the CDOMC, taking on additional duties as necessary, such as representing the department in meetings and functions where the presence of Marketing Communications is required.
* Takes on AHOD responsibilities and duties, such as being included in the monthly Manager on Duty roster, participating in meetings, etc.
* Supports the CDOMC in the department’s daily operations, such as approval of and attending to requests from other departments.
* Maintains effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant departments are aware of marketing objectives.
* Liaises with any and all partners as directed by the DOMC, such as corporate office and contracted PR agencies, service providers, other departments, and various stakeholders.
* Supports all Sales and Marketing colleagues in ensuring that we are meeting our departmental goals.
* Assists in administrative duties and staying informed and on top of departmental operations, such as budgets and expenditures, tracking of training hours, project KPIs, and schedules.
* Responsible for the management and development of the Marketing & Communications team members reporting them, including providing guidance and support, assessing capabilities and conducting regular performance reviews, and administering disciplinary or corrective actions when necessary.
COMMUNICATIONS
* Imbibes the Conrad brand identity and keeps up with brand updates. Assists the DOMC and other stakeholders in upholding the branding guidelines.
* Development and execution of creative concepts that further each property’s brand promise and elevates guest experience, such as annual events and campaigns.
* Coordinates and works with other departments and stakeholders for the success of MarComm-related activations.
* Collaborate with F&B, Sales, operations, revenue management, and cluster eCommerce teams to ensure alignment of communication campaigns with business goals and distribution strategies.
* Creates copywriting for marketing collateral, press releases, concept papers, and reports.

* At least 5 years of experience in hotel and/or resort marketing and communications, with a strong background on digital marketing and departmental administration, and has experience in leading others.
* Excellent communications skills, both in verbal and written English, with experience in copywriting. A writing sample will be required.
* Has an eye for aesthetics and design, and has experience in photo and video shoots and collateral management.
* Is hyper-organized and efficient, a go-getter, and has experience in coordinating events and campaigns, and is able to manage their own time.
* Creative, collaborative and enthusiastic with a thirst for knowledge and career advancement.
* Is personable, sociable, and has experience in managing marketing events and entertaining and/or hosting media, press and other guests.
* Thrives in a collaborative environment and is concerned with the development and growth of others.
* Proficient in MS Office – PowerPoint, Word and Excel particularly. Familiarity with design and template platforms such as or similar to Canva.
* Possesses stellar presentation skills, and is comfortable managing various stakeholders.
