We are looking for a full-time Maintenance Person to work at Lound Hall Nursing Home located in Lound, Suffolk.
As the Maintenance Person, you will positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around the home, supporting the home manager to maintain a safe environment for residents in our care.
Duties:
* Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the Care Home and surrounding grounds;
* Ensuring the smooth operation and serviceability of all services such as heating, lighting, plumbing and non-medical equipment required for the safe and efficient operation of the Home;
* Work positively with the Home Manager to achieve outcomes for tasks such as refurbishment, non-day-to-day servicing, redecoration etc;
* Take an active role in the monitoring of any risk areas regarding the Homes operations and security and advise the Home Manager accordingly;
* Maintain the home as a pleasant, friendly and secure place to live;
* Report and action any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture/equipment and any other potential hazards. Inform Home Manager of actions required;
* Clear signs, snow & grit the paths/steps;
* Keep sheds and out buildings tidy;
* Keep records of fire test, call point checks, temperatures and adhere to company policies on daily/weekly & monthly checks;
* Driving duties as required;
* 'On call' for emergencies.
Required Skills:
* A genuine interest in promoting independence and lifestyle opportunities for older people as well as being able to work unsupervised;
* You will need to be confident and enthusiastic enough to carry out fault finding and basic repairs to all equipment, for example- water checks, fire alarm checks, catering and laundry machines etc;
* PAT Testing;
* In terms of background, while it's not essential, past experience in a care setting is desirable;
* Driving licence, with a clean record.
