About us
Sue Ryder Palliative Care Hub South Oxfordshire operates from Battle Barns in Crowmarsh, Wallingford, and supports people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work in a supportive environment where care of the patients comes first.
This role will provide our clinical, medical, community and support services teams with general clerical/administrative support. The role will involve working flexibly throughout the Palliative Care Hub, with your own role and responsibilities, along with covering within the Hub office when required. Flexibility is key, as we provide a service seven days a week. The role will also include occasional Bank Holiday and weekend working. Full training will be provided for electronic patient management systems.
Some Duties and responsibilities below:
· General administrative duties and dealing with telephone enquiries, which may entail
dealing with complex situations
· Inputting of data onto current IT systems and collecting data to produce reports as
required. Production of documentation using word processing and other software
including clinical software packages
· Responsible for maintaining clear systems of working that can be accessed and
delegated in times of absence
· Maintaining safe, secure and efficient office systems management and filing and to
ensure safe handling of confidential data
· In order to facilitate the safe and smooth running of the Centre, employees are
expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user
confidentiality, and occasionally take on reasonable additional tasks to meet the needs
of the service
About you
You will have extensive administration experience, pro-active, organised & flexible in your approach with the ability to adapt to various tasks/changing priorities.
To be successful you will have experience/knowledge in the following areas:
Experience of working in administration
· Highly organised, detail-oriented and methodical
· Working knowledge of common IT applications
· Able to work independently and to deadlines
· Able to work as part of a team · Able to work flexibly and committed to learning new skills · Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills · Excellent interpersonal skills
