As part of its strategic focus on Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) growth, the D2C team is seeking an experienced Senior Payment Proposition Manager to oversee and enhance Samsung's payment offerings across both online and in-store channels. This role is critical in determining how customers engage with payment options, ranging from core payment methods and financing solutions to innovative upgrade programmes, subscriptions, and data contract opportunities.

Role and Responsibilities
Payment and Finance Proposition Strategy
1. Define and own the payment proposition roadmap, aligned to Samsung’s D2C strategy
2. Lead the development of new payment propositions to drive differentiation
3. Own performance management and optimisation of existing propositions to maximise conversion, AOV, and profitability
4. Drive omni-channel D2C payment propositions across online and in-store experiences for both B2C and B2B
5. Ensure consistency and scalability of propositions across all Samsung product categories and touchpoints
Market, Consumer and Payment Insights
6. Analyse payment, finance, and checkout trends, customer behaviour, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and risks
7. Benchmark competitor propositions and evaluate internal capabilities to shape best-in-class payment journeys
8. Use insight and data to continuously optimise payment placement, messaging, and customer experience
Proposition Development, Commercials and Contracts
9. Lead D2C end-to-end proposition development from concept through launch and optimisation, including requirements gathering and prioritisation
10. Build and own robust commercial and financial business cases, partnering closely with finance and analytics teams
11. Lead commercial negotiations and ongoing management of payment and finance third-party providers
Stakeholder Leadership and Governance
12. Lead cross-functional, matrix teams across technical, legal, finance, commercial, marketing, onsite and operations
13. Influence senior stakeholders to secure alignment, investment, and prioritisation for payment initiatives
14. Manage governance, risk, approvals, and regulatory compliance across all payment propositions
15. Report on proposition performance and roadmap progress to senior leadership
Performance, Cost and Risk Management
16. Define and monitor key performance indicators across payment journeys and identify improvement opportunities
17. Own end-to-end payment experience including customer messaging, legal compliance, and regulatory requirements
18. Manage payment economics, including transaction fees, chargebacks, fraud, and operational costs
19. Report on proposition performance and roadmap progress to senior leadership
Skills and Qualifications
20. University degree or equivalent experience
21. 10+ years in e-commerce, product or payment proposition development within a major brand, marketplace, retailer, financial services, consultancy, or agency
22. Strong experience in payments, finance propositions, and/or data contracts
23. Deep understanding of e-commerce economics, conversion drivers, and margin optimisation
24. Proven senior-level ownership of complex propositions with commercial accountability
25. Extensive experience leading third-party partnerships and negotiating commercial contracts
26. Customer-centric mindset with strong payment expertise
27. Strong analytical capability (qualitative and quantitative) with confidence in business case development
28. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into executable delivery
29. Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills at senior stakeholder level
30. Proactive, resilient, and comfortable navigating ambiguity and change
31. Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
