This is an exciting opportunity to join our Waste & Transport team as a Supervisor at Bradford Teaching Hospitals.
You will have the opportunity to showcase your skills by:
1. Providing supervision, leadership, and support to the Waste Porter & Transport Driver team, ensuring a professional, efficient, effective, and timely service to all departments that contributes to safe, high-quality patient care.
2. Learning all aspects of Waste & Transport, as the role is a working Supervisor, so you will understand and be willing to perform every aspect of the role.
Having excellent communication skills, you will work closely with the Portering Senior Supervisor to ensure the efficient running of services.
* Ensure excellent communication with the Waste Porter & Transport Driver team at all times and that effective communication systems are in place.
* Work closely with the Senior Supervisor, attend necessary meetings, and respond to information requests.
* Ensure the waste room/waste collection schedules are current and adequately resourced.
* Ensure transport delivery rounds are up to date, and deliveries and collections are completed as scheduled.
* Work as part of the Waste Porter team to collect and remove waste across BTHFT sites when required.
* Assist as a member of the Transport Driver team when needed.
* Ensure staff appraisals, probation reviews, and all training, including Mandatory training, are completed.
* Follow procedures to accurately record staff absence, process RTWs, and approve annual leave.
* Ensure staff work within safe systems of work at all times.
* Provide and ensure the use of PPE for all staff at all times.
* Report any Health & Safety issues or incidents and document them on IRIS.
