This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in UK MoD Safety and Environmental processes to join the business. Marshall Land Systems is a key partner in a UK consortium designing, developing, deploying, and supporting new electronic systems for the UK MoD, providing critical capabilities for UK Armed service personnel. Your role will ensure these systems are developed and deployed with appropriate safety and environmental rigor. You will be part of a CORE management team, acting as an extension to the UK MoD safety and environmental team, advising and providing oversight to teams developing cutting-edge equipment. Travel within the UK will be required. Your responsibilities will include:
Establishing and maintaining project Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS) for defence contracts in compliance with defence policies, legislation, and regulations, including maintaining a Safety and Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) throughout the project. Serving as the primary contact for all Safety and Environmental matters with stakeholders. Implementing and managing the SEMS based on current Defence policies and requirements, especially MOD ASEMS. Monitoring and reporting progress against safety and environmental targets. Leading safety and environmental communication with stakeholders. Advising on technical solutions to safety hazards and environmental impacts. Conducting internal safety and environmental audits and supporting audits by external assessors. Ensuring timely delivery of safety and environmental documentation. Staying updated on Defence ASEMS standards, regulations, and legislation. Supporting safety and environmental engineers in case report delivery and assessments. Planning and supporting internal safety and environmental working groups and managing PSEP meetings. Investigating safety incidents and recommending improvements. Apply if you have most of the following:
Experience managing stakeholders across a consortium. Experience using e-Cassandra for defence hazard logs. Experience managing environmental impacts. In-depth knowledge of ASEMS, POSMS, POEMS, DEFSTAN standards, and relevant defence legislation. Experience applying IEC 61508 and SILs. Knowledge of RADHAZ management. Experience managing S&E for electronic systems, especially programmable systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience delivering defence projects aligned with ASEMS. Ability to obtain UK MoD Security Clearance. Based in the UK, with operations in Canada, Marshall specializes in deployable operational infrastructure and mission support for humanitarian, defence, and security operations worldwide.
