Lifecycle Planner - Nuclear (Ideally will have cost estimating experience)

Working pattern: 3 days in the office (Tuesday to Thursday)

Overview
We are supporting a major programme within the UK nuclear sector and are looking to speak with experienced Lifecycle Planners, ideally with some exposure to cost estimating.
This opportunity sits within a large, high-profile engineering environment delivering long-term work on a complex hazardous facility. The programme focuses on the safe retrieval, handling, packaging, and long-term disposition of legacy nuclear materials, using a combination of specialist engineering systems, remote handling technology, and carefully phased delivery planning.
The role would suit someone comfortable working across a technically demanding project setting, with responsibility for developing and managing schedules through to completion while engaging with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
The role
You will be responsible for producing, maintaining, and developing integrated project schedules through to completion. This will include managing interfaces beyond the immediate core scope, coordinating with project and client stakeholders, and identifying critical path activities to support delivery in the most efficient timeframe possible.
Key responsibilities
* Develop, manage, and update detailed project schedules through to completion
* Identify and monitor key interfaces across the wider programme environment
* Liaise with stakeholders across project teams and client functions
* Analyse and communicate critical path and schedule risk
* Support planning activities linked to long-term project delivery milestones
* Contribute to cost-related planning inputs where required
* Assist in the preparation of estimate assumptions and supporting documentation
* Support order-of-magnitude and lifecycle cost planning activity
* Produce cost studies, trend analysis, and forecasting information within your area of responsibility
* Identify potential risks to delivery and support mitigation planning
* Support presentations and reporting for management and project leadership
Experience required
* Degree qualified, or equivalent relevant experience
* Around 8-10 years’ relevant experience with a degree, or 12-14 years’ relevant experience without
* Strong background in project planning within highly regulated or complex engineering environments
* Experience in a client-facing or stakeholder-facing role
* Strong Primavera skills
* Previous experience within the nuclear sector
Desirable
* Experience on complex nuclear decommissioning programmes
* Cost estimating experience
* Previous Sellafield project exposure
* Experience supporting business case development and presentation
