The Production Scheduler is responsible for scheduling manufacturing work, focusing on capacity and resource planning. They will oversee the progress of ‘live’ Manufacturing Orders through Operations, collaborating closely with Operations Team Leaders and Managers.
Location: Wimborne, UK
Responsibilities include:
1. Producing and maintaining schedules for the production teams.
2. Ensuring the delivery of high-quality products on time, meeting customer requirements.
3. Providing real-time schedule updates to Operations/Project Managers and Leads, highlighting potential risks and recommending work-arounds.
4. Assisting in key make/buy decisions with Planning, Procurement, and Production teams to maximize value and profitability.
5. Promoting departmental efficiency through innovation and waste reduction.
6. Providing weekly reports on production performance versus forecasts.
7. Performing other duties as required by the business.
What You Bring:
* Eligibility through BPSS application; British Nationality required for security compliance.
* Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
* Educational background including GCSEs or equivalent in Science, Maths, and English.
* Experience in production scheduling; manual scheduling experience advantageous.
* Experience in manufacturing environments (nuclear, defence, aerospace) desirable.
* Methodical, organized, and detail-oriented approach.
* Motivated with leadership and influencing skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
* Experience with BoMs and manufacturing routings in ERP/MRP systems.
* Adaptability to changing priorities and willingness to work extended hours if needed.
