The post holder will lead operational delivery teams of 250-300 staff through supporting managers. They are responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery, value for money, and adherence to technical and quality standards. This role impacts road safety outcomes directly and involves developing operational processes, managing performance, and fostering talent development. The Operations Manager will also liaise with the Service Directorate, providing operational insights to support business improvements and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing leadership, influence, and guidance to staff to support objectives, establishing a clear direction and a persuasive vision.
2. Leading vehicle testing operations across regional teams, ensuring service quality and consistency.
3. Ensuring operational standards, quality expectations, and service levels are met and exceeded.
4. Maintaining effective communication and engagement with staff and management teams.
5. Developing operational plans to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services.
6. Driving improvements through QA and audits, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
7. Collaborating with strategic partners to develop business plans aligned with changing priorities.
8. Serving as a liaison for specific services, providing operational expertise on legislation and improvements.
9. Coordinating with internal departments to meet customer needs and ensure clear communication.
