Responsibilities
* Adhere to and promote SHEQ group standards.
* Achieve optimum, yet safe productivity levels with designated workload.
* Ensure all transactional elements of the role are managed effectively, such as breakdowns, services, PIDIs, determining damage, and timesheets.
* Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
* Provide Safety Observations for any unsafe practice in the depot or on a customer site.
* Ensure overdue servicing is kept below 6% of total fleet in your designated area.
* Have all training and competencies updated via the PDP skills matrix.
* Provide support outside the normal job role as and when required for the Depot and Service Manager.
* Ensure the company vehicle is kept in good condition and stocked with appropriate tools, oils, consumables, and safety equipment.
* Seek time to self‑develop (relevant to the role) via training platforms, online learning hubs, and structured training sessions.
* Provide support for colleagues as and when required and/or when you deem necessary.
* Ensure depot and engineering standards.
Qualifications & Experience
* Skills and experience in mechanical or electrical disciplines relevant to the equipment involved.
* Adequate skills for performing competent maintenance routines, whether in field service or depot‑based roles.
* In‑depth skills for competent fault diagnosis, dismantling, repair, and testing of the defined equipment type for repair roles.
* Experience working with generator engines is essential; applications without this experience will not be considered.
* Hold a C&G NVQ or other recognised professional or vocational qualification in the relevant technical discipline. (Desired)
* In‑depth experience in multiple technical disciplines (e.g., mechanical and electrical). (Essential)
* Hands‑on experience in service, maintenance, installation, and repair of diesel‑driven generators. (Essential)
* For servicing and maintenance roles, adequate skills to reliably perform or quickly develop competent maintenance routines.
* For repair roles, in‑depth skills for fault diagnosis, dismantling, repair, and testing of the defined equipment type.
* Clean and tidy appearance is essential as you will be meeting customers.
* A full driving licence is essential as travel will be an essential part of the job.
