Position: Area Field Sales Manager

Contract Type: Permanent – 37.5 hours

Location: Croydon

Shift: Mon - Fri

What you’ll do:

Responsible for managing a team of Field Sales Executives to ensure team deliver against targets set for new business parcel volume, sales activity, profitability and product mix across their own region and in line with DHL eCommerce UK expectations and performance targets.

Key Role Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

1. Set clear performance expectations & Provide guidance, and support to a team of Sales Executives whilst also contributing parcel volume via there own target with the autonomy to balance their own target through over achievement of team members
2. Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to success
3. Regularly evaluate teams performance through weekly pipeline management to ensure 8 weekly growth targets are achieved.
4. Maintain an in depth knowledge of customer platforms/APl solutions and train team in the relevant features of these systems.

Driving Strategy

5. Drive Strategic direction aligning with overall Commercial Strategy.
6. Responsible for communicating new initiatives that help to deliver improved customer margin eg: GPI and margin improvements.

Customer Engagement

7. Resolve escalated customer issues or ensure the correct escalation channel is used.
8. Regularly attend client meetings with each team member. Use these opportunities to provide coaching & feedback and help close the business.

Business Development, Maintenance & Growth

9. Ensure that all team targets are met or exceeded.
10. To ensure the team are winning new business to the required KPIs as set by the company.
11. Ensure customers adhere to agreed volume levels and take a proactive approach to monitor.
12. Ensure new business that is implemented are trading to 80%+ of their profile for Volume, Revenue and Parcel mix.
13. Regularly attend Sales/ Ops meeting.

Performance Evaluation & Reporting

14. Provide regular performance & activity reports for line manager.
15. Ensure team are regularly logging and updating all customer activity within our Salesforce CRM system & Pipeline document including customer call, visits & opportunities.
16. Ensure all team members keep on top of accuracy of pipeline to provide weekly updates to your line manager.
17. Provide timely and accurate customer revenue and volume forecasts.

Collaboration

18. Oversee handovers from SEs to FAMS to ensure accounts transition seamlessley mitigating any risks to the client prior to handover.
19. Maintain strong collaboration & coordination with all departments with DHL eCommerce UK.
20. Maintain a liaison with operational management and customer services departments with regard to customer service issues. Ensure at risk accounts brought on by any team member are raised in the appropriate escalation channel.
21. Participate as required at training courses, sales assessment days and regional team meetings.

What We’re Looking For:

25. Minimum of 5 years in a Sales role preferred people management experience
26. Strong presentation skills
27. Ability to work under pressure, identify and achieve set deadlines
28. Analytical in the pre-processing of data
29. Experience in a similar role, specifically regarding to account management and new business sales
30. Experience of working within the parcel delivery sector is a distinct advantage
